Relevant material master views
There are a number of views you may select from. As with the customer master record,
you have sales views as well as accounting views. A few relevant material master views are
as follows:
• Accounting 1, 2
Valuation and costing information. Examples of fields would be
standard price, past and future price, and moving average cost price.
• Material Requirements Planning (MRP) 1, 2, 3, 4
Information for material
requirements planning (MRP) and consumption-based planning/inventory control/
availability check. Examples of fields include safety stock level, planned delivery
time, and reorder level for a material. A crucial field value for MM, PP, and SD is the
MRP type,
• Purchasing Data
provided by Purchasing for a material. Examples of fields
include purchasing group responsible for a material, over- and under-delivery
tolerances, and the order unit.
• General Plant Data Storage 1, 2
Information relating to the storage/warehousing
of a material. Examples of fields include unit of issue, batch management, and
storage conditions.
• Sales Org Data 1, 2 and Sales—General/Plant data Information pertinent to sales
orders and pricing. These views are most relevant for the SD team. Examples of
fields include delivering plant, taxes, pricing reference material, and item category
group. The availability check indicator, which controls how the system determines if
stock is available for a sales order and when it will be available, is included here as
well.
